Women's Advancement Plan for Austria's Arts & Civil-Service Ministry repealed as of 18 August 2026
The 2023 Women's Advancement Plan (Frauenförderungsplan) of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport (BMKÖS) has been formally repealed by BGBl. II Nr. 247/2026 with effect from 18 August 2026. Civil servants of the ministry and the Federal Monuments Office are affected.
What changed
The regulation BGBl. II Nr. 154/2023 — the Women's Advancement Plan of the BMKÖS — has been repealed (status changed to 'repealed', repeal date 18 August 2026) by the successor regulation BGBl. II Nr. 247/2026. Throughout the text, notes reading 'materiell derogiert durch BGBl. II Nr. 247/2026' (materially superseded by …) have been inserted to mark which provisions are no longer in force.
Who is affected
Civil servants and employees of the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Civil Service and Sport and the Federal Monuments Office who were covered by this equality and women's advancement plan.
What to look out for
The rules on gender equality, women's promotion, work-life balance, and re-entry support previously contained in this regulation are now governed by the new regulation BGBl. II Nr. 247/2026. Staff and equality officers (Gleichbehandlungsbeauftragte) should consult the new plan for current obligations.
