Supplemental accident insurance expanded to include Medical Air Ambulance Service Austria members
The regulation now covers members of the Medical Air Ambulance Service Austria (Verein „Medical Air Ambulance Service Austria") in the supplemental accident insurance scheme under Austrian social insurance law. The regulation has been repealed as of 15 July 2026.
What changed
Members of the Medical Air Ambulance Service Austria are now explicitly included in the supplemental accident insurance (Zusatzversicherung) scheme under § 22a of the General Social Insurance Act (Allgemeines Sozialversicherungsgesetz, ASVG). The regulation took effect on 1 January 2015 and was repealed by BGBl. II No. 213/2026 effective 15 July 2026.
Who is affected
Members of the Medical Air Ambulance Service Austria organization are directly affected by this inclusion, as they are now covered under the supplemental accident insurance system in Austrian social insurance.
What to look out for
