Apprentice wages for event technicians set at €817.70–€1,646.60 monthly (Oct 2026)
The Federal Arbitration Board has set mandatory apprentice wages for event technicians across Austria, effective 1 October 2026, where no collective agreement applies. Employers of apprentices in this trade must pay these minimum amounts based on year of training.
What changed
New apprentice wage scales for event technicians (Veranstaltungstechnik) have been officially set by the Federal Arbitration Board. These wages apply in any workplace where no collective agreement for this trade is currently in force. The rates range from €817.70 in the first year to €1,646.60 in the fourth year.
Who is affected
Employers (Lehrberechtigung) who train event technician apprentices and the apprentices themselves in Austria. This applies where no sectoral collective agreement exists. Any employer engaging apprentices in this trade must comply with these wage floors.
Apprentice wages by year
Year 1: €817.70 monthly; Year 2: €1,045.10 monthly; Year 3: €1,270.90 monthly; Year 4: €1,646.60 monthly. Each apprentice also receives one month's additional wage as a holiday bonus (Urlaubszuschuss) and a Christmas bonus (Weihnachtsremuneration), both prorated if they start or leave mid-year.
Overtime and when it takes effect
For apprentices over 18 with no applicable skilled-worker wage (Facharbeiterlohn) in the workplace, overtime is calculated at a base rate of €14.13 per hour. The entire regulation takes effect on 1 October 2026.
